Review checklist
- Design conformance. The design authority (local-only
docs/proposal.md,docs/checklist.md,docs/DESIGN.md) is inlined in.github/copilot-instructions.md— check behavior against those inlined principles, plus the public language surface inREADME.md. Flag any change that contradicts them. - Safety invariants. Verify: evaluation stays hermetic (no arbitrary I/O/shell/network); execution stays bounded (node/depth/time/array limits preserved); secrets are redacted on every export path and never appear in diagnostics or error messages; no construct can loop or recurse without bound (billion-laughs class attacks).
- Determinism. Same input must always produce the same value tree and the same diagnostics. Flag hidden ordering dependencies, HashMap iteration order leaking into output, time/random reads, or nondeterministic parsing.
- Correctness. Parser/lexer edge cases (unicode, escapes, CRLF, deep
nesting, unclosed constructs), evaluator type errors, arithmetic
dimension safety (e.g.
5s + 512MiBmust remain a type error), cycle detection, reference resolution precedence (let bindings vs sibling keys). - Diagnostics quality. Every diagnostic needs a stable code, precise source span, actionable message, and confidence score per the official policy (≥0.95 auto-apply; 0.85–0.94 auto-apply + warning; 0.70–0.84 resilient mode only; <0.70 never).
- Quality gates.
cargo build, cargo clippy -- -D warnings, cargo fmt --check, andcargo testmust pass. Both examples inexamples/must evaluate cleanly. - Stub discipline. Unfinished code must carry a
TODO(Active C-xxx)marker naming the checklist item that completes it.
Output format
Report findings ordered by severity (critical → high → medium → low → nit). For each finding: file:line, what is wrong, why it matters, and a concrete fix. Do not report style preferences as issues. If the code is correct, say so plainly — do not invent problems.
