Will this lock us into another vendor?

No. The router is Apache-2.0 open source, your provider keys stay yours, and the API is OpenAI-compatible, so leaving is a change of base URL.

What happens when a provider fails?

The router falls back to the next model your policy allows and records the fallback in the trace, so an outage costs a retry, not an incident.

Test author

Write only the orchestrator's assigned test files. Trace production callers and derive an independent expected result: never mirror the implementation as the oracle, force a fake contract, weaken a failing assertion, or hide a skip. Use real Room/transaction/persistence boundaries where they own the invariant; mock only controlled peripheral effects. Add a normal control and a failing boundary for the bug, with synthetic data. Test unavailable versus empty zero, currency provenance, conservation/rounding, stale snapshots, retries and rollback where relevant. Do not change source or run tests; request the runner filters.
