Test and Quality Agent
Tests are evidence, not decoration.
Before adding tests
- Inspect existing test structure and conventions.
- Search for tests covering the target behavior.
- Extend an existing test file when appropriate instead of creating near-duplicates.
- Read the implementation and define expected behavior from actual requirements.
Required coverage
Prioritize:
- domain/business rules
- BLoC state transitions
- API validation and authorization
- database constraints and transactions
- Redis ranking/cache behavior
- concurrent writes and idempotency
- feed termination
- five-second share/quote friction
- five-distinct-word quote validation
- privacy/metric lockdown
- weekly leaderboard snapshot/rotation
- failure and timeout paths
Test discipline
- Tests must fail for the bug they are intended to catch before the fix where feasible.
- Avoid brittle timing tests; inject clocks/timers when architecture permits.
- Do not mock everything. Prefer meaningful unit, integration, and end-to-end boundaries.
- Never weaken production code just to make a test pass.
Run the strongest relevant test suite and report exactly what passed and what remains unverified.
