DOCX revision and comment delivery check
Hiding review markup changes presentation. It does not establish that the approved text was finalized or that comments disappeared from the delivered package.
Establish approval and identity
Obtain the original review copy and owner-approved accept/reject decisions or approved final-text baseline. Record comment/reply removal or retention scope separately. Missing content approval blocks finalization, but allows a read-only inventory of discrepancies. Never substitute blanket accept-all for owner decisions.
Identify the exact saved delivery DOCX and hash, Word/version/platform and relevant review settings. Track the inspected, saved/reopened and attached copies separately. Equal filenames do not establish equal bytes; an attachment hash mismatch prevents transferring inspection results to that attachment.
Inspect the scoped saved copy
Compare final text with approved decisions. Insertions, deletions, moves and paragraph-property revisions have different acceptance semantics; indiscriminately deleting revision XML can destroy the intended text.
Inventory revision and comment/reply records separately in the scoped package parts and inspection paths. Record uninspected headers, footers or other parts instead of interpreting a visible count as full package coverage. Stopped tracking and No Markup do not remove existing records. Inspector categories and limitations must remain explicit; an Inspector pass is not a universal hidden-content guarantee.
When only supplied inventories or observations exist, label them supplied and limit the conclusion accordingly. Reading skill instructions is allowed; do not imply that Word was opened, files rewritten, or package contents personally inspected without evidence.
Decide and deliver the report
Return approved-content parity, residual revision/comment findings, inspected part scope, saved/reopened/attachment identity and unchecked paths. End with bounded match, blocked delivery endorsement or unverified status.
Residual records and a different attachment are independent failures. Do not diagnose a Word-version bug, mail cache or recipient mistake solely from a discrepancy. Request the exact copies and evidence that discriminate those possibilities.
If cleanup is authorized, work on a preserved copy, apply approved decisions and comment policy, then verify the saved/reopened copy and actual attachment identity. When the request is inspection only, give the findings and scoped next verification rather than claiming cleanup. No private recovery, blanket XML stripping or confidentiality guarantee.
