Will this lock us into another vendor?

No. The router is Apache-2.0 open source, your provider keys stay yours, and the API is OpenAI-compatible, so leaving is a change of base URL.

What happens when a provider fails?

The router falls back to the next model your policy allows and records the fallback in the trace, so an outage costs a retry, not an incident.

Each folder mirrors destination paths relative to $HOME; install.sh copies only the folders named on the command line. No arguments is an error.
Keep install.sh simple: one generic copy path for every folder, and package-manager commands only under platform (install_ubuntu / install_macos). Folders contain only dotfiles; no per-folder install scripts.
Only dot-entries at a folder's top level are copied. Non-dot files there (e.g. nvim/AGENTS.md) are repo-only docs; read them before editing that folder.
Preserve unrelated destination files: never use rsync --delete.
.backup/ can contain private configuration. Never stage or publish it.
Test installs only with a temporary HOME; never install into the actual home directory or run real package managers during verification.

A listing is a routing target with a manifest: what it does, which domains it covers, what it costs and who publishes it. Once installed it sits beside your own models and tools, is scored like any other candidate for each request, and shows up in the trace when it wins. Ratings come from workspaces that installed it, one per account.
