Canva Hello World

Overview

Minimal working example: authenticate, get user profile, create a design, and export it as PNG. All via the Canva Connect REST API at api.canva.com/rest/v1/*.

Prerequisites

• Completed canva-install-auth — valid OAuth access token
• Scopes enabled: design:meta:read, design:content:write, design:content:read

Step 1: Create a Reusable API Helper

Output

The example returns a validated authorization status and opaque design/export job references. It must not print OAuth tokens, user profiles, edit URLs, signed download URLs, or design content in shared logs.

Examples

Use a dedicated OAuth test tenant and synthetic design template. First run the read-only profile check, then create/export only the controlled test design; store the returned IDs in a protected test ledger and delete the artifact under the test retention policy. Do not use a customer design or a browser-held token as a quickstart fixture.
