How long does the integration take?

Change one base URL in an OpenAI-compatible client, or install the Python or TypeScript SDK; the quickstart routes a first request in a few minutes.

Will this lock us into another vendor?

No. The router is Apache-2.0 open source, your provider keys stay yours, and the API is OpenAI-compatible, so leaving is a change of base URL.

What happens when a provider fails?

The router falls back to the next model your policy allows and records the fallback in the trace, so an outage costs a retry, not an incident.

source-model (exeris-sdk-source-model/): Jackson-serializable AST records under eu.exeris.sdk.sourcemodel.ast.*. ALWAYS records (never classes). @JsonInclude(NON_DEFAULT) aware (boxed-zero hazard).
ui-kit (exeris-sdk-ui-kit/): Tailwind v4 theme + CSS + minimal TS helpers. Standalone npm package (@exeris/ui-kit), NOT in Maven reactor.
bom / parent: version + plugin config; mirror attach-sources + attach-javadocs executions from exeris-sdk-annotations/pom.xml for any new publishable Maven module.

Coding Defaults

All annotations @Retention(RetentionPolicy.SOURCE) — never RUNTIME, never CLASS. AnnotationContractTest enforces this via classpath reflection.
All annotations carry @Target(...) — also enforced by AnnotationContractTest.
All AST types are records — Jackson 3 needs accessors it recognises as getters (records win this for free).
Boxed-numeric fields with @JsonInclude(NON_DEFAULT): avoid 0 as a meaningful value (Jackson 3 drops it).
Records use primitive booleans with FAIL_ON_NULL_FOR_PRIMITIVES=false consumer contract (documented in eu.exeris.sdk.sourcemodel.ast package-info).
maven.compiler.release=25 across the reactor (ADR-069, the kernel's GA LTS) — do not raise it above the kernel's baseline, and do not lower it below what the sources need.
ui-kit: TS strict, Vitest tests; 85% per-file coverage on lines / statements / functions / branches.
Source-model: 85% BUNDLE-level instruction + line gate via JaCoCo (jacoco-maven-plugin ≥ 0.8.14).
When removing / renaming public API: apply deprecation pipeline (@Deprecated(forRemoval = true) + javadoc replacement pointer + processor fallback-with-warning ≥ 1 minor release + MIGRATION.md entry).

Implementer does not self-approve public-API removal — apply deprecation pipeline (escalate to exeris-sdk-docs-adr for MIGRATION.md entry).
If a new AST record is added, mark AstJsonRoundTripTest case required.

Non-goals

Do not introduce kernel / framework deps anywhere in this repo.
Do not import from exeris-tooling / exeris-platform (downstream).
Do not change maven.compiler.release to anything below 25 (ADR-069).
