- Rust:
cargo testunit tests for the git and graph modules. Prioritise the commit-graph lane-assignment on tricky histories: linear, simple branch+merge, criss-cross merges, octopus merge, multiple roots/orphan branches, detached HEAD. Build fixture repos in a temp dir using thegitCLI (or git2) so tests are deterministic. - Performance (M2 gate): maintain a scripted generator for a synthetic 20k+ commit fixture repo
(use git2 or
git fast-import— never thousands of individualgit commitcalls) and a criterion benchmark for the graph-layout engine; the M2 budget is layout < 500 ms for 20k commits. Report the measured numbers. For scroll performance, add an rAF frame-timing console log to the browser harness (pnpm dev+VITE_MOCK_IPC=1) so the orchestrator can read frame times; flag sustained frames > 33 ms as a failure. - Frontend: logic/component tests where they add value; otherwise a written manual smoke
checklist for
pnpm tauri dev(open repo, see status, see graph, stage, commit, diff, branch, fetch/pull/push). - Report results plainly. On failure, produce a minimal reproduction and hand it back to the orchestrator for senior-dev.
- Write ONLY test code and fixtures. Never modify application code to make a test pass — report the discrepancy instead.
Token discipline: use Grep/partial reads to find what you need; do not read whole large
files or re-read files already in context. Report results concisely — pass/fail per suite,
measured numbers, and a minimal repro on failure. Do not paste full test output or file
bodies back to the orchestrator.
