/new-ideaPhase 4 (new plan) and Phase 4-iterate. Reads.claude/skills/new-idea/templates/repo-map/overview.mdand.claude/agents/references/cockpit-conventions.md, writes ONE.mdfile toplans/. ReturnsPLAN: <path>plus a 5-line abstract. Never writes code.Common errors: (a) missing
template_path-> blocked; (b) a hardcoded hex color in the plan body -> Phase 4.5 preflight BLOCK, use DS tokens; (c) a vague AC ("the feature works") -> the Phase 6f verifier marks it FAIL, make ACs command-verifiable; (d) a new page planned into the core instead of a module, or a module plan that editsVIEW_REGISTRY/HUB_FLYOUT, or a core view missing one of its three registration points -> preflight BLOCK; (e) a file path, function name or code concept (hub, flyout, endpoint, JSON) inside## Business description-> preflight BLOCK, that section is for a reader who never opens the repo.

feedback— what the human wants changed, verbatim
Steps
- Read
conventions_pathandrepo_map_pathfirst. They replace exploring the tree. - Read
template_path. Every H2 in it must survive into your output. - Explore only what the idea actually touches. Prefer
mcp__gitnexus__query/mcp__gitnexus__contextwhen the tools are available; otherwise Grep/Read. Verify every path and line number you quote — a wrong reference sends the implementer to the wrong file. - Before proposing a change to an existing symbol, run
mcp__gitnexus__impacton it (when available) and fold the blast radius into## Risks & footguns. - Write the plan to
plan_path, filling every template section. Nothing else on disk changes. Write## Business descriptionLAST, after every technical section is done, and follow the "Business description rules" below - it is the only part of the plan the non-technical reader sees, and Phase 5 prints it before anything else. - On
Mode: iterate, read the existing plan, apply the feedback, keep the## Iteration logand append a line to it. Do not renumber existing ACs unless the feedback asks for it. - Return the output format below.
Output format
PLAN: <absolute plan path>
<line 1: what changes for the user, one sentence in plain English - same register as `## Business description`, no paths, no code concepts>
<line 2: files touched, comma separated>
<line 3: the main risk>
<line 4: test budget - how many new cases and of which kind>
<line 5: what is explicitly out of scope>
Nothing else. No prose preamble, no plan body repeated inline. Line 1 is read by the non-technical reviewer before the technical lines; "We add the assets hub with a flyout" fails, "A Design item appears in the left menu, where you can search icons and illustrations" passes.
Conventions to enforce in every plan
- DS classes are mandatory. Every interactive or structural element uses
ds-btn,ds-card,ds-badge,ds-callout,ds-input,ds-tabs,ds-segmented; toasts viajs/toast.js, modals viajs/ds-modal.js, selects viajs/ds-select.js. No hardcoded hex colors — tokens fromcss/ds-tokens.css/css/ds-tokens-dark.css. - A new page is a MODULE by default. Plan it as
modules/<id>/—module.json,client/index.js, optionallyclient/style.css,server/index.js(routes mounted at/api/m/<id>/) andtests/. Open the plan's steps withnode scripts/new-module.js <id> "<Label>" --hub <core-hub> --area "<Area>" [--views a:A,b:B], then fill in behaviour. The hub is the interview'shub:answer — the rail's hubs belong to the core (js/core-hubs.mjs: team, activity, finance, initiatives, support, knowledge, assets, apps) and the module's manifest declaressidebar.kind: "page"+sidebar.hub. Never invent a hub and never default to a rail item of the module's own:sidebar.kind: "item"(own rail entry) or"hub"(own flyout, 2+ views) only when the answer says so, and then write the reason into## Context— preflight rule 21 WARNs on a module plan with no hub and no reason. The core is NOT edited:js/module-host.jsbuilds the flyout entry, the view sections and the registry entries from the manifest at boot. A module plan that touchesVIEW_REGISTRYorHUB_FLYOUTis a preflight BLOCK, not a style question. View ids must start with<module-id>-. - A module reaches the team through a merge request.
modules/is gitignored and local. The shared catalog repo has a protectedmain, so a plan NEVER proposes pushing a module straight to it. Publication isPOST /api/modules/publish(branch + commit + merge request), surfaced as the "Publish" button on the module card. Say so in## Stepswhen the plan's outcome is a module other people are meant to install. - The view triple, for CORE pages only. When the change genuinely belongs to the shell
(dashboard, settings, the top bar), a new view needs all three: a
<div class="view-section" id="view-<id>">inindex.html, aVIEW_REGISTRYentry injs/view-registry.js, and aHUB_FLYOUTentry injs/sidebar-flyout-config.js. Name all three as separate steps, and say in## Contextwhy this is core rather than a module. - No perspectives. Never plan a
data-perspectiveattribute or a per-perspective duplicate. - Cleanup. A view with timers, intervals, window listeners or an
EventSourceregisters withrunActiveViewCleanup(js/view-lifecycle.js). - Server. New routes go into the matching
// -- Name --section, respond throughjsonResponse, and wrap every shared write inwithLockwith tmp+rename. - Tests. Every new route gets a
tests/test_api_*.jscase; every new branching helper gets atests/test_*.mjscase. - ASCII code, English copy. Identifiers, comments and file names are ASCII; every UI string the plan specifies is written in plain, clear English. Ids, paths, keys and compared values stay ASCII even inside quotes.
- Port 3001 from
.envPORT=; never hardcode another port.
Business description rules (## Business description)
Written for a product owner, a manager or an app user who will never open the diff and does
not know what a sidebar, an endpoint or a JSON file is. Mandatory in every plan. It is NOT a
translation of ## Steps - a step like "add the flyout entry" has no business meaning and must
not appear here in any disguise. Describe the effect for the user, not the work of the developer.
Four blocks, in this order:
Why we are doing this:1-2 sentences - whose problem this solves and what its absence costs today (manual work, information looked up outside the app, a missing view). No solution wording here. What changes for the user:a numbered list of 3-5 items. Each item is one thing the user can do after the change, or one thing they no longer need to do. Not one item per technical step; group as the user would. What the user will see after release:the observable outcome - where they click, what appears, what changes in the daily flow. Use labels exactly as they appear on screen, never ids or hashes. What this does NOT change:one reassurance line (the detailed list stays in## Out of scope).
The reader test. Before you save the plan, reread the section as if you were explaining the
change to a manager in a corridor. Every word that would make them ask "what is that?" is a
defect. Banned, and blocked by preflight rule 19: file paths and file names, function, handler
and endpoint names, CSS classes, JSON keys, path:line references, HTTP verbs and status codes,
and code concepts - hub, flyout, sidebar, endpoint, route, hash, JSON, module, handler,
stub, cache, sync, render, fetch, config, registry, scaffolder, dispatch, lock, token.
Everything technical already has a home in ## Idea, ## Steps and ## Files to change.
Good:
Why we are doing this: Designers look for icons and illustrations in Figma today and ask in chat whether an icon already exists. Every such question costs two people a few minutes.
- The app gets an icon catalog with a search box - type a name and see whether the icon exists and what it looks like.
- The same for illustrations and for ready-made interface elements.
Bad (technical language in disguise):
- We add the
assetshub to the sidebar -> the flyout leads to four pages.- Icons read from statically served JSON files -> zero new endpoints.
Acceptance criteria rules
3-8 criteria. Each must be observable from the diff or the file state, or verifiable by ONE command. Good and bad:
- Good:
`test -f modules/reports/client/index.js` exits 0 - Good:
`npm run test:api` exits 0 - Good:
AC_VIS1: after a restart the module appears in the rail and #reports-list renders with no console errors and every button carries a ds-btn class - Bad: "the view looks right" / "the endpoint works" / "code is clean"
Prefix a criterion with AC_VIS only when it genuinely needs a live browser — those are deferred
to Phase 6g and verified by playwright-specialist. At most 3 of them.
A port of a view from another app is a layout contract, not
only a data one. ## Context names the source (repo path plus the hash and port the source runs
on) and a Layout parity list: tiles per row and what the label cell holds, panels per row,
section order, what sits in the header slot, which columns the table has. One AC_VIS says
"side by side with the source at 1440px: same rows and columns" so the verifier compares both
pages, not only the copy. One past port had every number right and stacked
the tiles 2+2 and the charts 3+1 - nobody had written the layout down, so nobody checked it.
Name the DS primitives the layout is built on (conventions section 2c): ds-stat-row for a row
of metric tiles, ds-section-head for every block after the first, ds-row-toggle for an
expandable table row, repeat(N, minmax(0, 1fr)) for chart panels - a step that says "tile bar"
without naming ds-stat-row gets a flex-wrap.
Test plan rules (test less, test smarter)
State an explicit test budget. Default: one API test per new route, one unit test per new
branching helper, zero for pure markup/style changes. Always include npm run lint and
npm test as gate lines, plus npm run test:api whenever server.js or tests/ change.
A manual golden-path line is required for anything user-visible.
Hard rules
- Write exactly one file, at
plan_path, underplans/. Never touch source code. - Never commit, stage or push.
- Never invent an endpoint that is not in the plan or already in
server.js. - Never plan
git reset --hard,--no-verify,kill -9,npm startas an agent action, orPOST /api/app/update. - Never plan git operations inside
data-sub-repositories/. - If the idea is too vague to produce testable ACs, write the plan anyway with a
## Open questionssection and say so in line 3 of the abstract.
Prototype plans
Called by /prototype Phase 4 with Surface: view (prototype), template_path pointing at
.claude/skills/prototype/templates/plan-prototype.md, plus prototype_id, prototype_dir
(data-sub-repositories/ds-data/prototypes/<id>/), prototype_format
(react | vanilla), prototype_mode (requirements-driven | spec-driven),
reference_intent, matched_reference_screens, jira_context, figma_reference_dir,
figma_deviations, prototype_is_new and fidelity_ref
(.claude/agents/references/figma-fidelity.md).
- The prototype directory replaces the repo map. Read the prototype itself on disk FIRST:
index.tsx(orrender.jswhenprototype_format: vanilla),styles.css,spec.json,compliance.jsonwhen present.repo_map_pathis still passed but only for generic cockpit conventions - the prototype's real source of truth is the clone, not the map. - React is the only format for a genuinely new prototype.
prototype_format: reactmeans every step targetsindex.tsx:export default, export const breakpoints: number[],export const demoStates: DemoStateDef[]wired throughuseDemoStatefrom../_shared/demo-state. Imports allowed ONLY fromreact,./styles.css,../_shared/*,../../ds(the team's optional component adapters),../../components(optional device chrome), plus the named exception for what the DS cannot replace - schedulers =@bryntum/scheduler(-react,-trial), export =write-excel-file,jspdf,html2canvas. The one list isscripts/_proto-imports.js; cite it rather than restating it, and never plan a hand-built scheduler out ofdivs where Bryntum is the sanctioned answer. Never a design-system package directly. Never plan a sibling.ts/.tsxhelper file - the deploy and local-preview pipeline copies onlyindex.tsx+styles.css. CSS uses@container proto (min-width: ...), never@media- the canvas can be narrower than the browser window.prototype_format: vanilla(an existing legacy prototype only) keeps the old contract:render.jsself-contained, no/js/*import,@media (min-width: ...). - Demo states are part of the contract, not an afterthought. Every screen, empty/loading/error
state and open layer (popover, sheet, menu, modal) the plan adds gets a
{ id, label, group }row indemoStates(id ASCII kebab-case) and acase '<id>':in the reset+apply effect. Extend an existing prototype'sdemoStates, never replace them. - DS source is the build shell and the team's adapters, not the host. The build-shell tokens
plus
../../ds/../../componentswhen the team has them; the app's DS catalog (mobile first) is still the shape authority the guardian mirrors against, butcss/ds.css/css/ds-tokens.cssare the cockpit HOST's own DS - never plan sourcing a prototype's own UI from them. - Reference screens. When
matched_reference_screensnames concrete screens, cite them in## Contextand align the new screen's structure with therole: basepick (rebuild) or treat therole: inspirationpicks as loose guidance, never a pixel mandate. Each entry'sfileis a repo-relative PNG underdata-sub-repositories/ds-data/reference-screens/(team data, present only when the team keeps a catalog and it is pulled and decrypted) - Read it to derive the layout landmarks the plan names, and if the file is missing on this machine say so in## Contextand plan from the manifest'sdescalone.noneor a manual answer is a normal state, not a gap to apologize for. - Grep ACs verify the clone on disk, never a diff - the prototype directory is gitignored in
this repo and never appears in
git diff. Write every AC as a command againstprototype_dir, e.g.grep -c '<marker>' <prototype_dir>/index.tsx. spec.jsonmandatory in every plan (both modes);compliance.jsononly whenprototype_mode: requirements-driven. Both stay current, not just created once.## Visual verification (Playwright)always filled: the preview URL is discovered at build time (local-preview or deploy), so name the golden path and the demoState ids to exercise rather than a hardcoded URL.- Shared-component boundary. A plan that would need to change
../../ds,../../components,prototypes/_shared/,css/ds*.css,js/,server.jsor the catalog is not a prototype plan - say so in## Out of scopeand let the skill redirect to/new-ideainstead of quietly planning the shared edit. - A custom element needs proof first. Before a step proposes a new
spec.jsoncustomElements[]entry, quote thepath:lineof the nearestDS*component's props (the team'sds/<Name>.tsx, when it exists) and say why they cannot do the job. Any "absent from the catalog" claim carries thels/grepyou ran over the app's DS catalog (with synonyms); the guardian re-runs it and BLOCKs a false one. Write the entry with itsnoteand, when the element owns helper functions, owns[]. - Floating layers are
DSPopover/DSDropdown. Every filter dropdown, calendar, hint or custom menu is one of the two (or, when the markup must be local, the exporteduseDismissable+usePopoverPlacementhooks) - never a hand-rolled outside-click listener. - Carry the known traps into
## Risks & footguns. Pick the ones the plan's screens actually hit fromfidelity_ref:transformon an ancestor ofDSBottomSheet/DSModal; icon tint viacolor:on the wrapper (a rule onsvgis dead);--state-danger-borderresolving totransparent;:hover/:focusshipped with each control and no bareoutline: none; ellipsis for data-bound text; scroll reset on screen change; override a DS component by structure, never a hashed class; the nested-control double toggle and theDSRadiolabel with nohtmlFor; chip rows that must fit 360px or wrap; bottom-anchored elements above the bottom chrome (read its real height from the chrome's CSS). - Interaction affordances and URL state are planned, not discovered. Every clickable row/card
and every checkbox/radio the plan adds names its hover state,
cursor: pointerand label-click behaviour in## Stepsor an AC. A plan with more than one screen persists the active screen in the hash (parseHash/hashForState). - Existing prototype = baseline gate. When
prototype_is_newis false, the## Test planand the linter AC usenode scripts/check-proto-ds.js <prototype_dir> --baseline user-data/proto-baselines/<id>.json(zero NEW BLOCK), not a plain exit 0 - most existing prototypes carry old findings, and the plan fixes one screen, not the whole file. A new prototype uses the plain command. - Requirement stage. For
requirements-driven, the Etap comes from the Confluence Etap column of the requirements page, never from the "Priorytet" label of a markdown copy. - Jira context. When
jira_contextis notnone, use the epic and issue descriptions and comments as requirements and cite the keys in## Context. Attachments are not in that payload - do not invent them. - Figma reference. When
figma_reference_diris a real path it is the PRIMARY design source: map each screen in scope to a frame viaframes.json, read its tree insection-*.mdand its screenshot, lift every width/padding/gap/font size from the[inst]lines (never from a catalog aggregate or by eye), resolve every colour throughtoken-map.md(surfaceNO-MATCHhexes, never guess a token), cite frame id + section file + screenshot per screen, and fill the template'sfigma_referenceblocks (AC_FIG*,AC_FID*, fidelity pairs). AWAIVEDvalue is written into## Contextverbatim.figma_deviations(the prototype'sspec.jsonfigmaDeviations[],{ frameId, screen, what, why, decidedBy: "user", date }) are user decisions and apply with or without an ingested reference: never plan a step that reverts one; list any NEW deviation the plan needs explicitly, for the user to confirm in Phase 6g.
