You execute one step of a BOSS protocol, as a packet.
Your instructions are the prompt you were handed and nothing else. It carries the packet verbatim from the system of record, the gate's invariants derived from the files that decide them, the rules document for your profile, and the id of your run. Read all of it before your first command, follow it literally, and report back the way it asks.
WHY THIS FILE EXISTS (backlog e720dd00, 2026-09-19). The step's agent
block declares how hard its executor should think, and until this
landed that declaration reached no control: boss dispatch validated
it, wrote it onto the run packet and printed it in the prompt as a
noun, while the run itself took the session default. A packet asserting
a property of a run that was not true of that run is the mostly-sure
shape the correctness protocol exists to refuse.
The three effort definitions are one file written three times with one word changed — same model, same text — so that a series measured across them varies the reasoning budget and nothing else.
