Amazon Bedrock now supports Anthropic Claude models in Seoul and Singapore. Specifically, Claude Opus 5 and Claude Sonnet 5 are available in Seoul, while Claude Sonnet 5 is in Singapore.
This support allows inference requests to be processed entirely within the chosen Region. The data does not leave the Region, which helps meet strict data residency rules.
In-region inference is different from cross-Region profiles. Requests are served only by the Region you call, with no routing across Regions. This limits throughput to that Region’s capacity.
You can access these models through the bedrock-runtime endpoint. You can use the Amazon Bedrock console, APIs, or SDKs to send prompts and get responses. The console offers a no-code way to test models.
Programmatically, you can use the Anthropic SDK or AWS CLI to invoke models in Seoul or Singapore. The APIs support Anthropic’s Messages API and Amazon Bedrock features like Guardrails.
Monitoring usage and costs is possible through CloudWatch and AWS Cost Explorer. This helps you scale your applications as needed.
This update helps you build AI applications that need strict data residency. It supports compliance and security requirements in these Regions.
