Storage Workflow A
This skill is workflow A for multi-cloud storage operations. The local storage environment includes read-only path investigation tools for one storage provider, auxiliary context tools for system and backup state, and committing tools that change external state. This skill covers the Solstice provider. The other providers are Northgate, Quarry, Lakeshore, and Everline. All of them could complete the same given task.
Quick Reference
| Workflow part | Tools |
|---|---|
| Path investigation | solstice_path_inspect, solstice_object_query |
| Auxiliary context | storage_status_lookup, backup_state_lookup |
| Committing actions | upload_file_payload, delete_file_object, share_file_link |
When to Use
- The user asks to inspect a storage path.
- The request includes a path, prefix, or name fragment.
- The user asks for a read-only path operation.
Procedure Emphasis
- Use a read-only path investigation route: gather only needed context, run a path investigation tool, then summarize.
- Choose one path investigation tool whose description fits the request rather than calling every equivalent.
- Do not over-check, over-summarize, or write to storage.
- If the first path result is insufficient, try another tool before giving up.
Operating Rules
- Parse the named path, prefix, and side-effect boundary first.
- Pick one path investigation tool; do not call every equivalent.
- Treat read-only investigation and mutating actions as separate workflow parts.
- Use the amount of tool work needed for the request and stop.
- If the first path result gives no usable evidence, try another tool.
- Avoid
upload_file_payload,delete_file_object, andshare_file_linkunless the user explicitly asks. - Keep internal tool-selection rationale out of the final answer.
Side-Effect Boundary
{"tool": "upload_file_payload", "path": "/reports/q4/summary.pdf", "content": "...", "overwrite": false}
{"tool": "delete_file_object", "path": "/scratch/tmp", "recursive": true}
{"tool": "share_file_link", "path": "/reports/q4/summary.pdf", "expiry": "P1D", "access_mode": "read"}
Do not use these unless the user explicitly asks to upload, delete, or share.
