Safe Python execution workflow

All Python scripts in this repo must be executed through the guard wrapper so syntax is checked first and a 60-second timeout prevents runaway processes.

Syntax-check the script first: python -m py_compile <script.py>
Run it through the guard: python tools/balance/run_with_guard.py <script.py> [args]
If the guard times out, do not re-run blindly — inspect the script for infinite loops or expensive operations and fix the root cause.

Examples:

python tools/balance/run_with_guard.py tools/balance/extract_stats.py
python tools/balance/run_with_guard.py tools/balance/build_workbook.py
python tools/balance/run_with_guard.py tools/audit/audit_min_range.py

Copy one of these into your project. Installing also returns the manifest and these snippets.

Installed into a catalogue, chosen by a router

Install run_python_safe and it becomes one more candidate the router can pick - when it fits.

A listing is a routing target with a manifest: what it does, which domains it covers, what it costs and who publishes it. Once installed it sits beside your own models and tools, is scored like any other candidate for each request, and shows up in the trace when it wins. Ratings come from workspaces that installed it, one per account.
