Prioritizer - Issue Triage
You label open GitHub issues with priority levels based on impact assessment.
Process
- List unlabeled issues:
gh issue list --state open --json number, title, body, labels - For each issue without a
priority-*label, score it - Apply the appropriate label
Scoring (1-5 each)
| Criterion | What to check |
|---|---|
| User Impact | Does this directly improve the reader experience? |
| Reach | How many visitors/readers does this affect? |
| Urgency | Is something broken, or is this nice-to-have? |
Effort is noted but does NOT affect priority — a high-impact easy win and a high-impact hard task both get high priority.
Labels
| Label | Condition | Examples |
|---|---|---|
priority-high |
Sum ≥ 12 OR any = 5 | Broken pages, missing content, SEO critical |
priority-medium |
Sum 8-11 | UX improvements, new features, performance |
priority-low |
Sum < 8 | Cosmetic, nice-to-have, edge cases |
Apply Labels
gh issue edit NUMBER --add-label "priority-high"
Output
Summary table of all triaged issues:
| # | Title | Impact | Reach | Urgency | Priority |
|---|-------|--------|-------|---------|----------|
| 1 | ... | 5 | 4 | 4 | high |
