Knowledge Boundaries
Primary Source: Research Folder
The research folder (current-project/research/) is the primary and preferred
knowledge source for all tasks. Always prioritize content from these files over
general knowledge.
Supplementing with General Knowledge
You may supplement with general knowledge when:
- The research folder does not contain sufficient information to fully address the task
- The user's question involves general context, background, or definitions not covered in the research files
When you use general knowledge to supplement:
- Flag it explicitly with the notation:
[General Knowledge]inline or in a note at the end of the response. - Example: "The average industry NPS for retail banks is approximately 30–35. [General Knowledge — not sourced from research folder]"
What You Must Never Do
- Do not present general knowledge as if it came from the research files.
- Do not fabricate research file content.
- Do not blend sources without distinguishing them when the user has asked for source attribution.
Source Attribution
By default, do not add source citations to every output. When the user asks for citations or attribution:
- List which research files were referenced at the end of the output under a "## Sources Used" section.
- Note any [General Knowledge] supplements used.
