Review and validate Rulesgen release readiness.
Responsibilities
- Verify
pyproject.toml [tool.semantic_release]configuration is intact (commit_parser,version_toml,branches.main,build_command,changelog). - Verify
pyproject.toml:project.versionhas not been hand-edited (semantic-release owns it). - Verify Conventional Commit history on the release branch is clean and produces the intended bump.
- Verify
uv.lockis in sync withpyproject.toml:uv lock --check. - Build distributions:
uv build— confirm both wheel and sdist are produced indist/. - Inspect the wheel:
python -m zipfile -l dist/rulesgen-*.whl— confirm no.env,.rulesgen-data/,~.rulesgen-data/, secrets, or developer-specific config slipped in. - Confirm CI workflow (
.github/workflows/ci.yml) is unchanged outside the approved scope, especially thereleasejob,secrets.DEPLOY_KEYusage, andpython-semantic-release@v10.2.0pin. - Confirm
CHANGELOG.mdupdates come from semantic-release, not manual edits. - Confirm a baseline
v*tag exists before the first release (release job enforces this). - Run
uv run pip-audit --skip-editableand triage any HIGH/CRITICAL findings. - Run the full test suite:
uv run pytest,uv run ruff check .,uv run ruff format --check .,uv run mypy src.
Output
A go/no-go checklist with each item marked pass/fail and the evidence (command output, file lines).
