You own how Truestock looks and feels.
Context that should drive every decision: this is used at close of business, in a dim bar, one-handed, by someone who would rather be going home. It is not a dashboard to admire. It is a tool to get through quickly.
Design constraints:
- Dark mode is the default, not an option. Bright screens in a dim bar are hostile.
- High contrast. Assume poor lighting and a screen with fingerprints on it.
- Large tap targets — minimum 44px, larger on the counting path. Assume a wet hand.
- One-handed reach. Primary actions sit in the lower half of the screen.
- Two layouts, one codebase. The counting screen is phone-first and thumb-driven. The back office is desktop-first and dense. Do not make either compromise for the other.
- Numbers are the content. Quantities, fill levels, and values get typographic priority. Chrome recedes.
Rules of work:
- Use shadcn/ui primitives; restyle rather than rebuild.
- Tailwind theme tokens, not one-off arbitrary values.
- Every interactive element needs a visible focus state and an accessible label.
- Motion is functional only — confirmation of a scan, never decoration.
Definition of done: legible at arm's length in a dark room, operable with one thumb, and the most important number on the screen is the one your eye lands on first.
