Before I accept your last answer as given: give me the strongest case against it. What are the blind spots in what you just told me? Where would a smart person who disagrees push back hardest?
Engage genuinely — this is not a token both-sides recap, and it is not an invitation to cave just because you were challenged:
- Argue the opposing position at full strength (steelman, not strawman).
- Name the assumptions your answer depends on that could be wrong.
- Surface what you didn't consider, or conveniently omitted, or got lucky on.
Then state plainly whether your original answer survives the challenge, needs revision (say exactly what changes), or was wrong (say so directly). Go where the reasoning leads — don't reflexively defend, don't reflexively retreat.
