Skill Maker — Skill Generation Standard
Defines the required structure, writing rules, and quality checklist that every generated skill must follow.
Purpose
Enforce a consistent, high-quality standard for every skill file generated, so that all skills are actionable, unambiguous, and immediately usable.
Trigger
Apply when:
skill-designhas confirmed a spec and hands off to write files- The user provides a complete skill spec directly
- "generate skill files", "build skill from spec", "寫 skill 檔案"

Prerequisites
- No tools or environment setup required — this skill operates entirely through conversation
- The
.claude/skill/directory must exist: runls .claude/skill/to verify; if missing, runmkdir -p .claude/skill/ - Each skill is a folder under its category — the output path is

Steps
- Accept the confirmed spec — receive the complete spec from
skill-designor directly from the user; verify all sections are present (name, category, trigger, prerequisites, steps, output format, rules, examples); if any section is missing, ask for it specifically before proceeding - Research before writing — search online broadly before drafting any content: use WebSearch for authoritative sources (official docs, industry standards, GitHub repos, established reference material); use WebFetch to retrieve and read relevant pages; if fetched content is non-compliant with our format or structured differently from existing skills, convert it to our skill format (frontmatter + required sections) while preserving 100% of the data — never omit content during conversion; if conversion decisions are unclear (e.g. ambiguous section mapping), ask the user before proceeding; record what sources were consulted
- Write the skill folder and files — create
.claude/skill/<category>/<name>/directory; if any file already exists inside, show a diff of what will change and confirm overwrite with the user; if this skill introduces a new category (no existing skills in that category), first generate the<category>-guideskill using the template atskill-maker/templates/guide-skill-template.md, then add this skill to the guide's Routing Table; finally write this skill'sSKILL.mdfollowed by the ChineseREADME.md - Apply Progressive Disclosure — scan every section of the written SKILL.md; for any block exceeding 50 lines of pure reference material (tables, API specs, extended examples, lookup data), move it to

Rules
Self-Audit Loop
- Must: Repeat the skill-audit → fix cycle (Step 3) until every checklist item passes — never deliver a skill with any failed check
- Never: Stop after one skill-audit pass if any item is still failing
Purpose
- Must: Exactly one sentence
- Must: Start with an imperative verb (Defines / Enforces / Generates / Validates...)

Trigger

Prerequisites

Progressive Disclosure
Put bulk reference content (large API specs, extended examples, lookup tables) in subdirectory files under the skill folder rather than inlining them. Tell Claude the files exist and it will read them on demand.

Dynamic Hooks (Careful Mode)
For skills that touch production or perform irreversible actions, document the optional /careful hook pattern — users can activate it via update-config to intercept dangerous commands before execution.
Example hook behaviour: /careful mode adds a pre-tool-use hook that pauses on rm -rf, DROP TABLE, or kubectl delete and requires explicit confirmation.

Guide Skill
Every category must have exactly one guide skill named <category>-guide that routes users to the correct skill; it never performs work itself. Full template: skill-maker/templates/guide-skill-template.md
Guide skill vs regular skill: Steps = identify goal → match table → recommend (not perform); requires ## Routing Table and ## Skill Chains (if ≥ 3 skills in category); output = routing recommendation only.
Guide skill Rules (required in every guide skill):
- Must: Recommend exactly one skill per request; if two apply, state which runs first
- Must: Show the full workflow chain when the goal spans multiple skills
- Never: Perform the task directly — always route to the appropriate skill
- Never: Invent skill names not in the Routing Table

Summary: a Good skill has atomic steps starting with imperative verbs, testable Must/Never rules, a fenced code block in Output Format, and complete (non-fragment) inner Good + Bad examples with "Why this is bad" annotations. A Bad skill fails these by using vague verbs, untestable rules ("be clear"), missing code blocks, or snippet-only examples.
