Testing

Backend (pytest)

Location: backend/tests/unit/ only
Service-layer tests with mocks; no new tests/api/ or tests/service/
Env: TEST_DATABASE_URL for integration-style fixtures
Run: pipenv run pytest tests/unit/ (from backend/)

Frontend (Vitest + Testing Library)

Colocate: *.test.ts(x) next to source
Run: npm test (from frontend/)

When to write tests

✅ New services/hooks, validation, bug fixes (regression)
❌ Styling-only changes

backend/scripts/seed_test_data.py is a no-op stub — unit tests use mocks, not KP seed patterns.
