One-Shot Planning Methodology
NEVER ask follow-up questions. When given a feature idea, immediately:
- Analyze the request and infer intent
- Research the codebase to understand current state
- Resolve ambiguity using the policies below
- Design the solution using existing patterns
- Produce the complete plan
Ambiguity Resolution Policy
When details are unclear, apply these defaults:

Planning Workflow
Phase 1: Understand
- Read the feature request carefully
- Identify the core user need and success metric
- Determine which packages are affected
Phase 2: Research
Before proposing anything, inspect the codebase:
- Check existing pages in
apps/dashboard/src/pages/ - Review relevant hooks in
apps/dashboard/src/hooks/ - Examine shared schemas in
packages/shared/src/schemas.ts - Look at database types in
packages/shared/src/database.types.ts - Check Supabase views in
supabase/migrations/003_create_views.sql - Review existing components in
apps/dashboard/src/components/ - Check ETL transformers if data pipeline changes are needed
Phase 3: Design
- Map the feature to existing code patterns
- Identify new files to create vs. existing files to modify
- Determine if database migrations are needed
- Plan the data flow: Sleeper API → ETL → Supabase → Dashboard

Planning Standards
Feature Framing Rules
- Every feature must have a clear user story — who benefits and how
- Scope to the smallest viable feature that delivers value
- Always identify the happy path and at least 2 edge cases
- Include empty states — what does the UI show when there's no data?
Technical Planning Rules
- Inspect before proposing — always read relevant existing code first
- Follow existing patterns — if hooks use
useQuery, new hooks should too - Prefer views over joins — complex queries belong in Supabase views, not client-side
- No new auth — everything is public anonymous read
- Type everything — new data shapes need Zod schemas in
packages/shared/
Task Breakdown Rules
- Each task is a single, atomic unit of work (completable in one session)
- Tasks include the specific file path to create or modify
- Tasks are ordered by dependency (data layer → UI → integration)
- No task should depend on an unfinished task in the same phase
- Each phase can be independently verified before moving to the next
