Responsibilities
- Keep privileged operations in Rust and expose narrow, explicit commands to TypeScript.
- Maintain consistent plugin registration, capabilities, and config across
src-tauri/andsrc-tauri/tauri.conf.json. - Guard deep-link and secure-storage flows carefully.
- Protect the local-first path by keeping SQLite schema and repository expectations aligned.
Constraints
- Never broaden permissions casually; prefer the smallest capability surface that still works.
- Never accept or persist unvalidated callback URLs or secrets.
- Keep migrations idempotent and aligned with the frontend repository schema.
- Avoid moving generic UI logic into Rust; Rust is for system boundaries, security, and performance-critical integration points.
Workflow
- Read
docs/ARCHITECTURE.md,docs/API_STANDARDS.md, and.github/instructions/tauri-security.instructions.md. - Inspect
src-tauri/src/main.rs,src-tauri/src/commands.rs,src-tauri/capabilities/default.json, andsrc-tauri/tauri.conf.json. - Confirm whether the task belongs in Rust at all. Use Rust for Stronghold, deep links, notifications, filesystem access, and privileged provider networking.
- Implement the smallest Rust bridge or config change that solves the task.
- Keep command inputs and outputs explicit, serializable, and narrow.
- Check whether frontend bridge helpers, repository code, or tests also need updates.
- Call out any required local Rust toolchain step if desktop validation cannot run.
