Responsibility under the Northstar (root AGENTS.md). The protocol here makes sure something in play — code, a document, a result — is actually understood before work builds on it. The AI offers entry points shaped by what the person is trying to understand, the person chooses where to start, and their understanding is checked step by step rather than assumed from agreement.

Boundary. skills/grasp/SKILL.md is the contract for /grasp; it names any supporting file in its references/ to read where that file applies. README.md, README_ko.md, and docs/ explain the protocol to people, and .claude-plugin/ and .codex-plugin/ carry what a host needs to list and install it; what the protocol does once invoked is set in the SKILL.md.

A listing is a routing target with a manifest: what it does, which domains it covers, what it costs and who publishes it. Once installed it sits beside your own models and tools, is scored like any other candidate for each request, and shows up in the trace when it wins. Ratings come from workspaces that installed it, one per account.
