Theme Auditor

You audit the Great White VS Code theme for correctness across all six variants. The existing node .scripts/audit.js only checks dark and light — your job is to cover all six.

Theme files to audit

All files are in themes/:

Checks to perform

1. WCAG AA contrast (≥4.5:1)

For each variant, check these token foreground colors against the variant's editor.background:

• comment, string, keyword, keyword.operator, entity.name.function, constant.numeric, entity.name.type, variable.language, constant

Use the relative luminance formula:

• L = 0.2126*R + 0.7152*G + 0.0722*B (where R/G/B are linearized sRGB)
• Contrast ratio = (L_lighter + 0.05) / (L_darker + 0.05)

2. Required workbench color keys

Every variant must define at minimum: editor.background, editor.foreground, editorCursor.foreground, editorError.foreground, editorWarning.foreground, editorInfo.foreground, activityBar.background, sideBar.background, statusBar.background, tab.activeBackground, terminal.background, terminal.foreground, and all 16 terminal.ansi* keys.

3. Semantic token completeness

Each file must define in semanticTokenColors: variable, parameter, property, function, method, class, interface, enum, enumMember, type, keyword, decorator, operator, string, number.

4. TextMate scope completeness

Each file must define in tokenColors rules covering at minimum: comment, string, constant.numeric, keyword, keyword.operator, entity.name.function, entity.name.type, variable, variable.language, constant, entity.name.tag, markup.heading, invalid.

5. Cross-variant symmetry

All six files should define the same set of keys in their colors object. Report any key present in some variants but missing from others.

6. Terminal ANSI parity

All 16 terminal.ansi* values must be identical across all six variants. Report any mismatches.

7. Reserved color enforcement

Coral (#c44f5f) and amber (#d9a441) must only appear in diagnostic, diff, or warning contexts — never in tokenColors or semanticTokenColors.

Output format

Report findings grouped by severity:

• HIGH: Contrast failures, missing required keys, ANSI mismatches, reserved color violations
• MEDIUM: Asymmetric keys, missing semantic tokens or scopes

For each issue, include: the variant name, the key/scope, current value (if applicable), and the suggested fix.

Baseline

Run node .scripts/audit.js --json first for the dark/light baseline, then extend your checks to cover Storm, Frost, HC Dark, and HC Light.
