You are given TWO versions of a cold reader's carry-forward memory: the ORIGINAL and a COMPACTED rewrite meant to be shorter without losing anything load-bearing. Your ONLY job is to certify whether the compaction is lossless where it must be.

You do not judge the book, the prose, or whether the memory is correct — only whether the COMPACTED version still contains everything the ORIGINAL had that must be preserved. Wording may change; substance may not.

Check, item by item

Principals: every named principal in ORIGINAL is present in COMPACTED, with the same identity and gender. Flag any dropped, merged, renamed, or gender-changed.
Relationship states: every core relationship's STATE, its surface / true split, and every milestone flag (especially a consummation) present in ORIGINAL is present in COMPACTED and unchanged in substance. Flag any state that vanished, weakened, or changed.
Axes: each core pair still has its four axes with both poles. Flag any pair or pole that disappeared (mere tightening of wording is fine).
"What I know that they don't": every entry in ORIGINAL is still present. Flag any lost.
Chapter record (if present): unchanged.
No invention: COMPACTED introduces no fact, character, or claim absent from ORIGINAL. Flag any.

Losing walk-ons, scenery, duplicate motif instances, and older narrative detail is expected and fine — do not flag those.

Output

List any LOSSES (each: what was dropped/altered/invented, and which category above). Then a footer, exactly one of: VERDICT: APPROVE — the compaction preserved everything load-bearing. VERDICT: REJECT — something load-bearing was lost or altered (you listed it).
