Hospitality -- Wi-Fi Connectivity
When to use
The guest cannot connect, has slow Wi-Fi, needs the password, or hits a captive portal error. One of the most common in-stay complaints.
Procedure
1. Share official access steps
Password, network name, and portal steps from the knowledge base. Keep it short.
2. Basic device triage
Forget network and reconnect, toggle airplane mode, try another device, confirm they accepted terms on the portal. Follow KB-approved steps only.
3. Scope the outage
One room vs whole floor vs property-wide. Property-wide issues escalate to IT or the front desk immediately.
4. Workarounds
If documented: wired option, business center, mobile hotspot guidance without promising speeds.
5. Escalate infrastructure
Repeated failures for many guests or VIP impact escalate with room numbers and timestamps.
What not to do
- Do not invent network passwords.
- Do not promise specific Mbps speeds.
- Do not dismiss Wi-Fi complaints as unimportant.
- Do not walk guests through unsafe device settings.
