Process Flow
Phase 1: Initialization
- Validate Input: Ensure scenario name is provided in format "Scenario Outline: scenario name" or a feature file contanining scenarios with prefix "Scenario" or "Scenario Outline". In case of feature files, iterate over scenarios one by one.
- Set Iteration Counter: Initialize iteration = 1, max_iterations = 3
- Prepare Context: Set up working directory and environment
Phase 2: Generation-Review Loop
For each iteration (up to 3 times):
Step 2.1: Launch Generator Agent
Generator: Use playwright-tester.chatmode.md instructions
Generator Tasks:
- Search for scenario in
e2e/tests/ui/features/**/*.feature - Read scenario steps
- Analyze existing step definitions
- Generate missing steps in
auto-generated.step.ts - Execute test with:
npx playwright test --project='bdd' --trace on -g "scenario name" - Report results (pass/fail, syntax errors, etc.)
Generator Output to Capture:

Step 2.2: Launch Reviewer Agent

Iteration Management

Important Notes
- Always run Setup from playwright-tester.chatmode.md first
- Work from correct directory (e2e/ or project root)
- Preserve test execution results for reviewer context
- Be transparent about iteration count and progress
- Provide actionable feedback between iterations
- Know when to stop - after 3 iterations, manual intervention is best
- Document decisions made during orchestration
