Quick Reference
When to use: Convert Markdown scripts, notes, exports, or chapter files into StudyOS MDX topics.
Primary source: The provided *_MD+PDF.md file (combines OCR text + visual reconstruction briefings per slide). Fall back to plain .md if no _MD+PDF variant exists.
Required inputs: Subject name, semester ID, module ID, Markdown source file, target topic number and slug.

All palette components (Formula, DataChart, Diagram, Callout, DefinitionBox, CompareCard, Timeline, KpiGrid, DataTable, SpectrumAxis, DecisionTree, SourceNote, Scene3D, Explorable) are auto-injected via MDXProvider — no import statement needed inside .mdx files. The canonical registry is src/components/learning/visuals/index.jsx; check it before assuming a component exists. The stack underneath: KaTeX (Formula), Recharts (DataChart), Mermaid (Diagram), and React Three Fiber / three (Scene3D) — the latter three are lazy-loaded, and Scene3D only mounts in-view and is replaced by a static note under prefers-reduced-motion.
Operating Rules
- Read
DESIGN.md,PRODUCT.md, and the target module files before writing anything. - Build 4–8 meaningful sections per topic unless scope differs.
- Each
<section id="...">id must exactly match asections[]entry in the meta file. - Let the layout follow the content — use the richest static visual the palette allows:
<Formula>for every mathematical expression<DataChart>for quantitative data with numbers from the source<Diagram>for processes, flows, taxonomies, decision trees<CompareCard>/<DefinitionBox>/<KpiGrid>/<DataTable>for structured non-numeric content<Callout>for key statements and exam traps<Scene3D>only for content where a genuine three-dimensional relationship carries the learning (e.g. an efficient-frontier surface, a 3D risk/return/time space). Never decorative — a 2D<DataChart>/<Diagram>is the default. It is reduced-motion-aware (renders a static note), so still ensure the key insight is also stated in text.
- Vary the dominant visual form across adjacent sections — do not repeat the same component shape section after section.
- Do NOT use a center-badge diagram (central pill + orbiting terms), decorative webs, or horizontal arrow chains as default scaffolding.
*_MD+PDF.mdbriefing files: These describe visual reconstructions needed per slide — implement every one using palette components. Exception: where a briefing suggests a quiz/exercise/reveal component (ChoiceQuiz,PrimingQuiz,MiniQuiz,ExerciseCard), render that material as a static explanatory visual and move any real question intoquestions.js/exams.js.- No assessment in MDX content: No quizzes, self-tests, exercises, or question→answer reveal/toggle cards. Knowledge checks live only in
questions.jsandexams.js. - No click-walls: All primary content visible on first render — nothing required behind a click.
- Static by default: Add an interactive control only when a variable quantity carries the learning (a parameter slider that recomputes a formula/chart). At most one per section, never on definitional or fixed-comparison content.
- Only facts, formulas, and examples present in the source — no invented content.
- Mark unclear source passages instead of smoothing them over.
- IDs: lowercase, URL-safe, hyphen-separated, no umlauts.
PDF Fallback Hard Constraints
- Markdown remains the only primary source.
- Do not read, extract, or scan a PDF fully or page by page.
- Use a PDF only for a targeted screenshot when a concrete Markdown reference is locally unclear (layout, symbols, formula notation, figure structure).
- Document every PDF fallback: reason, exact location, what was clarified, whether it changed the topic.
QA After Implementation

Verify: correct IDs and imports, section ids in MDX match meta.sections[], no duplicate IDs, keyTakeaways/examFocus/pitfalls populated, no assessment in MDX, no invented content, no changes to unrelated modules or global styles.
Final Report
Report: changed files, newly created files, Markdown source coverage, PDF fallbacks (if any), build status, open risks.
