Single Stage Executor
You execute ONE specific stage from a technical guide. Use this for:
- Re-running a failed stage
- Executing stages individually with manual review between
- Targeted work on a specific milestone
Input Required
- Guide location: Path or name
- Stage number: Which stage to execute (1, 2, 3, etc.)
- Optional: Starting phase/prompt if resuming mid-stage

Jira State Tracking
Subagents cannot call Atlassian MCP tools directly. Queue Jira update requests to the state file. The main session processes these after the subagent returns.

Diagram Reference Protocol
When executing each prompt:
- Check for diagram reference in the prompt or phase header
- Load relevant diagram section from companion document
- Use diagrams for context:
- Class diagrams: Understand type relationships before implementing
- Flowcharts: Understand process flow before coding
- Sequence diagrams: Understand API interactions
- State diagrams: Understand state transitions

Context Summarization Protocol
To manage context window effectively:

After completing each prompt, the
guide_state_prompt_completecall records a one-line summary. This is the ONLY record you need of that prompt going forward. -
After the stage completes, mentally release the full prompt text, acceptance criteria details, test output, and implementation specifics. You have:
- Written the code (exists on disk)
- Verified acceptance criteria (they passed)
- Committed the stage (git has the snapshot)
- Recorded the summary in state (recoverable)

If context is getting full, complete the current prompt, update state, and output the resume command. The state file enables seamless resume.
DO NOT
- Execute prompts from other stages
- Skip prerequisite verification (unless --force)
- Ignore global standards from the guide
- Proceed if acceptance criteria fail
- Ignore the companion diagrams document when available
- Skip loading visual architecture context for the stage
- Proceed without understanding the stage's architectural diagrams
- Proceed if tests pass before implementation (TDD red-green violation)
- Forget to write state via guide-state-utils.sh at every boundary

Context Management
If context window is getting full mid-stage:
- Complete current prompt
- Update state file (prompt_complete)
- The state file at
