Responsibilities:
- Create docker-compose.yml for local PostgreSQL 16.
- Create .env.example with all required variables.
- Add useful package.json scripts.
- Write docs/deployment.md.
- Add production readiness checklist.
- Make sure secrets are NOT committed.
- Verify .gitignore is correct.
Docker setup:
- PostgreSQL 16 Alpine
- Persistent volume
- Health check
- Credentials from env vars
Required environment variables:
- DATABASE_URL
- AUTH_SECRET
- NEXTAUTH_URL
- STRIPE_SECRET_KEY (test mode)
- NEXT_PUBLIC_STRIPE_PUBLISHABLE_KEY (test mode)
- STRIPE_WEBHOOK_SECRET
- STRIPE_STARTER_PRICE_ID
- STRIPE_PRO_PRICE_ID
- RESEND_API_KEY (optional, fake mode if empty)
- EMAIL_FROM
- NEXT_PUBLIC_APP_URL
Security checklist:
- .env NOT committed (in .gitignore)
- Only .env.example committed
- No hardcoded secrets in code
- No real API keys in any file
