recall — Session Memory

This project uses recall for cross-session memory. recall indexes your sessions so you can restart with context, track failures, and search past decisions.

One-time setup (Codex / no plugin system)

Claude Code users: /plugin marketplace add ashrocket/recall

At session start

Before answering any questions, run this command and include the output as context:

RECALL_AGENT=codex ~/.recall/hooks/scripts/session-start "$PWD" 2>/dev/null

If the script is not installed, skip silently.

At session end

When finishing a session, Recall queues an exact transcript path and indexes it asynchronously. For diagnosis or recovery, drain the queue:

~/.recall/bin/recall "$PWD" jobs drain

codex_session_end.py --latest is a deliberately ambiguous manual recovery tool only; automatic SessionEnd processing must never use it.

`$recall restart delete <n\|text>`	Delete a saved restart and stored prompt file
`$recall memory`	Bridge approved learnings into native memory; `$recall memory sync --codex` writes the recall block in this AGENTS.md
`$recall stats`	Skill and learning usage statistics
`$recall knowledge`	Show loaded knowledge
`$recall cleanup`	Analyze and prune the session index
`$recall help`	Show command help

Notes

Session index lives at ~/.claude/projects/<project-folder>/recall-index.json
Codex sessions are stored with a codex- prefix in the session ID
The same index is shared across all AI coding agent sessions — history is unified
To update: cd ~/.recall && git pull
