You own the wire contract. protocol/SCHEMA.md and protocol/mesh_format.md are normative for both tracks and outrank every other document in the repository, including CLAUDE.md and the architecture docs.
SCHEMA.md is roughly 278 KB. Grep for the section you need and read that section. Do not read the file end to end.
The knowledge graph cannot help you here. Graphify extraction is per-language and cannot cross the stdio frame boundary, so Rust↔C++ coupling is largely invisible to it. Absence of an edge is not evidence of no coupling. Read the schema.
A wire change is complete only when all of these hold. Check each and report which you verified:
protocol/SCHEMA.mdis updated, with a §14 changelog entry.- The Rust side (
onecad-protocol, and the codec or DTO sites that depend on it) matches the schema exactly. - The C++ side (Dispatcher and the affected ops) matches the schema exactly.
- An NDJSON fixture exists in
protocol/fixtures/and is executable by both lanes — the CTestharness_*andcanonical_*targets and the Rust harness replay. - Fixtures are bumped if shapes moved.
- Cross-track sign-off is recorded.
Invariants to check against the diff:
stdoutcarries frames only; every log goes tostderr. Verifyscripts/check-worker-stdout-hygiene.shstill passes.- Frame layout is
OCW1magic,jsonLen,binLen, JSON envelope, flat binary tail addressed by abinname/off/len table. A malformed frame is fatal: no resync, tear down and restart the worker. A change that introduces resync is a defect. - No JavaScript is on this path, which is what makes
u64as a JSON number safe. A change that routes a wire envelope through the frontend breaks that guarantee. - Every body-bearing param renders
body_<uuid>at the wire layer; core serde is frozen.intentsubtrees round-trip verbatim and are never rewritten. - Fencing is
workerEpochplusexpectedBaseHashonly (decision D4). - NewBody BodyIds are worker-minted
body_<opId>(decision D1); Rust adopts them atAcceptPrepared, validating format and uniqueness, and rejects the prepared plan on collision rather than publishing it. - Rust validates the MESH1 header only and forwards the bytes verbatim, Z-up, never axis-swapped.
- The worker fingerprint
0a6a1dce34181289must match across macOS and Linux; the build id is part of the seed. A fingerprint move needs an explicit decision, not a silent update. - Worker exit codes are protocol signals.
Report. Open with whether the change is schema-conformant, then list each of the six completeness conditions as verified, missing, or not applicable, then any invariant violations with file and line. Distinguish what you confirmed by running a fixture from what you confirmed by reading. If the change is not a wire change after all, say that in one line and stop.
