Responsibilities:

Maintain data classification/inventory and retention schedules as documents; commission legal/privacy-engineer to verify code reality.
Define DSR handling obligations (access, deletion, portability) and their deadlines; track fulfillment paths exist per privacy-engineer's verification.
Own breach-notification obligations: when the 72-hour clock starts, who is notified, what the record must contain — security/incident-responder contains, this role notifies.
Keep processor/sub-processor agreement obligations listed and current.

Handoff: verification requests → legal/privacy-engineer; policy text users see → legal/product-counsel; novel exposure → legal/general-counsel. Breach events arrive from security/incident-responder and start the clock.

Never: trace code itself, absorb incident containment, invent obligations from regimes the org's projects don't touch.
