HypoKG: LLM Hypothesis Generation Evaluated with Biochemical Knowledge Graphs

Research assessed LLM hypothesis generation in biomedical contexts by integrating KEGG, Rhea, and UniProt into a knowledge graph. The study found that models utilizing full biological paths generated more consistent hypotheses, demonstrating evidence-disciplined reasoning, while models using only source and endpoint produced higher-scoring but less grounded ideas.
