A Stanford team led by Jiacheng Miao and James Zou published Paper2Agent in Nature.
This system turns research papers and codebases into Model Context Protocol servers.
Any MCP-compatible agent can now run paper methods using simple commands. The code is MIT-licensed and installs as a skill for tools like Claude Code.
The process uses six steps to build isolated environments and validate tools. A strict gate checks file presence, numerical matches within 3%, and image hashes. Only validated tools enter the final server.
