Ollama’s pricing structure has evolved to reflect the increasing size and complexity of open models. The new system utilizes per-token pricing, aligning with industry standards and addressing previous challenges with GPU-time based billing. This shift allows users to accurately track and manage their usage, particularly with models like Kimi K3, which boast a substantial parameter count. The pricing tiers remain consistent: Pro at $20/month with $60 of included usage, Max at $100/month with $300 of included usage, and Team at $500/month with $1,000 of shared usage. A free plan is also available with a limited monthly usage allowance for starter models.
The key change is the inclusion of monthly usage credits. These credits refresh each month and are consumed based on token usage. Importantly, there are no service fees or limits on request volume. The system operates with zero data retention, ensuring user privacy and security. The plans support popular coding agents like Claude Code and Codex, alongside an API for custom tool development. The Team plan offers unlimited users with a shared credit pool.
Existing subscribers can upgrade to the new pricing model through their account settings. For those reverting to legacy pricing, a request to the support team will convert the account back to the original plan, maintaining the same billing cycle and tier. Usage resets monthly on the same day of the month the plan started, including annual plans. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month, instead refreshing at each reset date.
