DevFest 2026 represents Google’s commitment to fostering a thriving developer community around its AI tools. The event, spanning from October 1st to December 31st, 2026, anticipates participation from nearly a million developers worldwide. This global initiative is hosted by Google Developer Groups (GDGs) and aims to provide practical, hands-on experience with Google’s AI technologies, including Gemini, Google AI Studio, and Google Cloud.
This year’s theme, "Build, Secure, Scale: Developers and Builders in the Agentic Era," emphasizes key priorities for modern software development. The event will feature live codelabs, workshops, and agent-athons, allowing attendees to directly engage with tools across Google’s ecosystem – Gemini, Google AI Studio, Google Antigravity, Google Cloud, Firebase, Android, Flutter, Angular, and Web MCP. The focus is on rapid prototyping and deployment, alongside a strong emphasis on secure deployment and responsible AI guardrails.
Three core realities drive the DevFest 2026 tracks: the ease of building with new tools, the necessity of secure and stable development, and the availability of production-ready infrastructure. Builders can leverage top-of-class models to scale reliably from day one. The event will cover over 800 events across 115 countries, offering a space to test new architectures and connect with the community.
Developers can find local events through the DevFest Event Directory and engage with the broader community using the #DevFest hashtag. Google provides newsletters with product updates, event information, and special offers. The event is built by the community, for the community, with GDGs curating events to meet local needs.
