Anthropic released Sonnet 5.5 as its newest mid-tier model. This version works much faster than the previous Sonnet 5 model. The company says token burn is significantly slower for this release. Sonnet 5.5 performs better on agentic coding than Opus 5.5. It can spawn multiple agents without exceeding cost limits. The model now has cyber safeguards similar to Opus 5. Anthropic plans a new Haiku version soon but gave no date.
